Confused about creating new module position 2 Years, 3 Months ago
I bought Pretty Modules today and am having a problem. I just don't understand the instructions for the module position.
The example uses the Poll module, however there is no module I need to use except the Pretty Module. All I want to use it for is to scroll testimonials. I do need to create a new position for it also. I want it to the right of the header.
I would greatly appreciate any help to get this module configured correctly.

thank you,

betty

I believe you're talking about the field 'Module Position' under 'Other Parameters'. there is no module I need to use except the Pretty ModuleIf you do not want to load another module inside PM, you can keep this field empty. You can just make use of the field 'Text' under 'Other Parameters'.

If you want to use it for testimonials, you can also add them as articles under category 'testimonials' (for example), and then in 'Article Parameters' in PM, you can select this category for article display.

I do need to create a new position for it alsoPretty Modules does not create a new load position. Position needs to be selected from standard module parameters just like any other module.

Please revert if I haven't understood your question correctly.

You understood my questions correctly.

I still can't get anything to show up except for the title. I have tried both using an article and using the text box in other parameters.

Could there be a setting I have set wrong that would make it so only the title shows up and nothing else?

thank you,

I need to have a look a your settings; if there is something in the text box, it should be displayed. Could you post a snap shot of the settings ? Need that so that I can replicate them on my demo site. If you can provide me backend access, you can send me the user details using the contact form.

I have attached snapshots of the 3 settings pages. I will be sending you a log-in via the contact form.

I appreciate your help in this issue.

I found out the reason I am not seeing the module working is that I use Internet Explorer. I tried looking at the example you did in firefox and it was fine.

I'm at a loss as I need it to work with both browsers.

I confirm this bug - 'Continuous Scroll' function does not work on Internet Explorer 8. Your best display at present is to have a scroll bar like I've now done on the demo page previously emailed to you.

This is because IE 8 does not like the marquee tag so well as did the previous versions, and PM uses this method for continuous scroll. I'll be getting rid of it and make use of either jQuery or Javascript for continuous scroll; please bear until then. Thanks
