Pretty Modules Not Working makes Site go Down 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Hi,

I just purchased your pretty modules. I created a headline and some text, in the module position I inputed grid17 as well as in the drop down and hit save. It takes my site down and does a repeat of the module all the way down can you help?

The site is igniteconsultantsplus.com

If you go there now all you see is the headline from the module on the home page.

Thanks for your help.

You should not be loading an existing module position in Pretty Modules, as it will duplicate the module. Hovering mouse over the lable will display instructions, I'm quoting themSay you want to display module position 'MyModulePosition'. You first need to open the module which you want to include in Pretty Modules. For example, open the Polls module from backend admin. Enable it. In the 'Position' field instead of selecting from the dropdown, double-click and type 'MyModulePosition' without the comas. Then click 'Save'. You've now created a new module position named 'MyModulePosition' and have configured the Poll module to load in that position. In this field in Pretty Modules you now need to enter 'MyModulePosition' without the comas. You can enter any existing module positions also as in your template like left, right, etc - but that would duplicate the display of that module, so it is better to create a new module position. While I cannot be sure on why your site has gone down, it will help if you can try as described and tell what is the module content, since it might have to do something with your site going down.

Yes I saw that but didn't understand what you meant. Are you basically saying I need to create 2 modules? One for whatever module I need and one for pretty modules for the same thing? Does one stay empty? Or else don't I get duplicate wording?

I was about to reply. Just for info, Pretty Modules will load the first module in the position specified. So if you want to load another module in Pretty Modules, give it another custom name.

Ok one more thing sorry to bother. I was doing good til I hit my third module. I did the sames steps o the first 2 as the third but the third module comes up with text from the first in it. Can you help? Not sure why its pulling from there?

www.igniteconsultantsplus.com

The third module on the right has text from the first module.

Hello. I can see that the text is repeated not only across all modules, but also within the same module. If it is not deliberate and if you're loading three other modules in these three instances of Pretty Modules, please let me know
Are all three module positions which you are loading unique (there should not be any other module in that position / with that position name) AND different (Pretty Modules will load only the topmost module in any position, so there should not be more than one module in a position which is being loaded in Pretty Modules)

Secondly, if your objective is to have a fixed text, there is no need to load a module. Delete text in 'Module Position' (make it blank) and then you can add 'Heading Text' under Advanced Parameters and 'Text' under Other Parametes.

To take example of your first module, add under heading text Business Assessment and Coaching and under 'Text' We take an inventory of your current business situation. This involves interviewing employees and staff individually as well as observing their work if needed. Personality assessments are crucial in this part of the process. We then compile an executive summary for review with owners/managers that outline the current make-up of their group. Finally we provide coaching on how to work with your employees so that they are utilizing and working within their strengths.

Please revert in case of further confusion.

Re:Pretty Modules makes Site go Down - Solved 2 Years, 2 Months ago
If you want all instances of Pretty Modules to be of same height, add same height(eg 400px - this should be equal to or more than the tallest module) for all three instances in 'Height of Module' under Other Parameters. I'm marking this as solved as I can see that it's ok on your site. If you face any other problem, please start a new thread.
